Privacy

Short version: the Revspoke app collects no personal data. This website sets no cookies and runs no trackers. We only hold your email if you write to us, join the Christmas gift box waitlist or ask for a free gift certificate.

Who we are

The data controller is Sonia Koszut, trading as Revspoke, a sole trader in the United Kingdom.

1. The Revspoke app

The app for iPhone and Android:

has no account or sign-in, and no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools;
doesn't send anything to us or anyone else. It makes no internet connections of its own, and its fonts and sounds are built in;
uses Bluetooth only to find and read your wheel speed sensor. Bluetooth scanning isn't used to work out your location, and the app doesn't use your location. (On Android 11 and older, Android itself asks for location permission before any app can scan for Bluetooth devices.);
keeps your settings on your phone (engine, volume, bike names, wheel sizes, the sensor you paired). Deleting the app deletes them;
offers an optional "Share test report" (Settings). It opens your phone's share menu with a text report: app version, phone model and OS version, sensor name, signal and battery, and speed and timing data from the current ride. Nothing is sent unless you choose an app and a recipient. If you send it to us, we treat it like a support email (section 3).

Full Garage purchases and codes are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own privacy policies. We don't receive your payment details or your Apple or Google account details. The stores give developers aggregated, anonymous sales and download statistics, and we use those only in that form.

Notifications (Android) show only while the engine is running, so you can see it's on and stop it.

2. This website

This website sets no cookies, and has no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. It's hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages). Like any web server, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details briefly to deliver pages and protect against attacks (our legitimate interest in running a secure website).

Links to shops. The sensor guide links to Decathlon and Amazon. If you follow a link, that shop's own privacy and cookie policy applies. If we later use affiliate links, the shop or affiliate network (for example Awin or Amazon Associates) may record that you came from us so they can pay us a commission. We'd label those links, and we'd receive only sales totals, never your personal details.

3. Emails, the waitlist and gift certificates

The waitlist and gift certificate requests are stored in Cloudflare (Workers KV) in our own account. Your certificate is a private web page whose link contains a long random key; anyone you share the link with can see the code. Email to hello@revspoke.uk is forwarded by our domain registrar, Namecheap, to our Google (Gmail) mailbox, where it's stored. We never sell or rent your details, and we don't send marketing to anyone who hasn't asked for it.

The waitlist and gift certificates are for people aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.

4. Who we share it with

Only the service providers above, which act on our instructions: Cloudflare (website, the waitlist and gift requests), Namecheap (domain and email forwarding) and Google (mailbox). Apple and Google run the app stores under their own policies. Some providers may process data in the US or the EU. Where they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires: UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

5. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to: give you a copy of your data; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; or give it to you in a portable format. Email hello@revspoke.uk. We'll reply within one month and won't charge you.

6. Complaints

Please tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, helpline 0303 123 1113.

7. Changes

If we change how we use data, we'll update this page and its date. If the app ever starts collecting data, we'll say so here and in the App Store and Google Play privacy labels before that version is released.
